Verified Identity ― “Signed & Sealed“

vChecked Seal

How do I know that
a domain is verified by vChecked?

How it works: The seal includes an integrated JSON web token (JWT) that contains the domain and the date of verification in an encoded and signed format. When a user clicks the seal, the name and the address of the domain holder and the name of the authenticated person will be displayed at https://vchecked.de.

Validity: The seal is valid for 2 years at maximum, then it must be re-verified. A re-verification must also be performed if the address or the domain holder have changed.

Who is responsible for the Verification?

Responsible for the vChecked certification is DENIC eG, the central registry of all Internet addresses that end with .de (.de domains). DENIC administers more than 17 million .de domains and runs the register in which the data of the domain holders is stored. For nearly 25 years, DENIC as the "core" of the German Internet has ensured that .de domains can be accessed 24/7 from everywhere in the world. This is guaranteed by a technical infrastructure that is absolutely reliable and by security guidelines that follow strictest terms.

DENIC is a neutral, non-regulated, not-for-profit cooperative. The strong community is composed of more than 300 Cooperative members, who register and administer .de domains on their customers‘ behalf and offer them Internet services, such as e-mail and webspace.
